MAT 107 Prerequisite Skills Test

The test is designed to provide students with an ACT math score between 18 and 21 or completing developmental mathematics requirements an opportunity to demonstrate prerequisite skill proficiencies needed to enter MAT 107 (College Algebra). Students will need to correctly answer 13 of the 25 questions on the test to demonstrate the prerequisite skills needed to enter MAT 107.

Please note:

• Students would take this test only if their major required MAT 107 and they wish to bypass MAT 098.
• MAT 098 is not required of students needing to meet developmental mathematics requirements.
• In order to register for MAT 107, students must have earned one of the following:
  • A "C" or higher in MAT 098 or
  • A MATH ACT score of 22 or
  • A passing score on the MAT 107 Prerequisite Skills Test

• Please call the Office of Academic Testing at 859-622-1281 to schedule the test.
• Students MUST bring a recent printout of their CARES report and a picture ID.
• Calculators are permitted but not supplied for the MAT 107 Prerequisite Skills Tests.
• Students will have a maximum of TWO attempts at the MAT 107 placement test from the middle of one semester to the end of the drop-add period the next semester in order to enroll in MAT 107 the next semester. Enrollment in MAT 098 counts as one attempt.
